THE STORY

The letter came just a few weeks before....a strange letter on old looking paper. Though at the time Noelle had received the letter she thought nothing of the old paper, seemingly faded ink, and old style penmanship. Now she kinda became a bit confused by it. The letter was an invitation to an event in the woods. The prizes listed were so extravagant that Noelle could not refuse the invite and she packed up the trailer and truck, got the "handy dandy show backpack", bathed her equine companion Manch, and loaded him in the trailer.

The drive was long and the roads were mostly dirt toward the end of the trip. By the time she arrived at the show's said place, the sun had started to dip below the horizon and the world was quiet. No one was there. No trailers, no trucks, people, horses, NOTHING and NO-ONE. Noelle was so confused. But she thought that maybe the show was literally somewhere in these woods and that she may have parked in a different area of the show grounds. So she unloaded Manch and tied him to the side of the trailer while she began to groom and tack him up. Once all tacked up Noelle made sure everything was in her backpack and tossed it over one shoulder, put on her helmet, and mounted up. Manch and Noelle started into the woods at a brisk trot.

The path at first was clear and wide, with some of the sunlight's last rays lighting the way. Though as the pair traveled further down the path, the light began to fade, and the path became gradually overgrown and narrow. Fog seeped slowly between the trees and around Manch's legs. Noelle frowned a bit at this and fished into her backpack for her phone, once she got it out without dropping it she pushed the power button and the phone flickered to life. Noey flipped through her phone apps and found the flashlight app and turned it on. The light wasnt very strong, but it was the only thing she had to work with. She hoped she would find the competition soon, but what she did not know was that she would not be finding a competition at all.....
